WHAT ARE STDs?
STD stands for Sexually Transmittd
Disease. They are transmitted through ANY type of sexual activity (vaginal, anal and oral sex).
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF STDs:
Bacterial/Protozoal STDs and Viral STDs
If dectected early, bacterial STDs can be treated but many do not have any symptoms. There is no cure for viral STDs- you have them for LIFE.
STDs can lead to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), Cervical Cancer, Chronic Pelvic Pain, Tubal (ectopic) pregnancies, Infertility and even death.
HOW CAN I PREVENT AN STDs?
There are two ways to totally prevent yourself against STDs. One is to abstain from sex. The other way is to only have sex within a faithful lifelong committment (i.e. marriage) to a partner who is STD free.
